Make Friday, April 24th a date to collaborate !

Join us for ” 10 at 10″ and discover at least 10 new ideas, 10 new people, 10 new opportunities…

We are launching the 10 at 10 Carden collaboration series with two powerful forces in the social change movement:

Tonya Surman and Margie Zeidler from the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto will be joining us for a discussion about the role of shared spaces in strengthening community and facilitating innovation and social change.

Tonya Surman – the Co-Founder and Executive Director of CSI, works actively with multi-sectoral social mission groups to collaborate, innovate and achieve success. Last October, we met with Tonya to run our concept for 10 Carden by her. When we told her that we already had a space and had already started, she practically leapt from her chair. When you meet Tonya you’ll immediately be stunned by her enthusiasm, smarts and incredible awesomeness.

Margie Zeidler – Developer and President of UrbanSpace Property Group is a true visionary who specializes in adaptive reuse of old buildings, matching them with artistic and socially relevant enterprises. Margie’s projects include the Robertson Building (home of the Centre for Social Innovation), 401 Richmond (created for artists and creative entrepreneurs), and the recent revitalization of the historic Gladstone Hotel (a unique urban hotel).

Back in 2003, over a glass of wine, Tonya and Margie decided embark on the creation of the Centre for Social Innovation with Tonya as the E.D. and Margie as the developer. This is an amazing opportunity to see them together – learn about the spark that ignited CSI in Toronto and discuss the impacts of their work together and individually.
