The Directors of 10C Shared Space, a not-for-profit board, are responsible for the oversight of strategy, risk management, social enterprise business model, community programs, financial management, reporting and impact measurement communications. 10C currently has opportunities for new members on its very active and engaged board of Directors. The term is 3 years. A maximum total term of 6 years can be completed back to back by any board member.
The board generally meets at 10C on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. In addition to the regular meetings, there are 2 retreat sessions annually requiring the commitment of a 4-5 hr block of time either on a weekend or weekday, as determined by the team. This, including email and direct involvement in the area of selected board responsibilities may total 10-12hrs per month.
If you have an interest in the 10C board, a good place to start is in a voluntary role on a committee of the board. This will let you familiarize yourself with our organization and find a role that you are passionate about. These sub-groups are structured as:

As 10C enters into its second decade of operations, it is looking to recruit qualified candidates to join its Board of Directors. With the building renovation of 42C now complete, 10C is poised to move forward with exciting new programming initiatives. 10C is seeking creative and team-minded individuals who can bring their leadership, collaborative skills, and vision to further build 10C as Guelph’s hub for community engagement, collaborative action and social impact.
We are looking to recruit in any area that will support the growth of 10C. We are particularly interested in applicants with skills in the following areas:
- social innovation / social enterprise
- legal / real estate / finance
- fundraising and sponsorship development
- marketing and network activation
Directors are appointed for a 3 year term with an expected commitment as outlined above of 10-12 hours per month.
