Getting ready for tax time when you’re self-employed? Not sure what you need to file your taxes as a sole proprietor? What can you claim as a business expense? How do I write off my car and home office expenses? What does that even mean?
This session will be fantastic learning for Farmers’ Market vendors, Nourish Kitchen members. as well as sole proprietors/self employed 10C or community members.
Come join Aerin Milley-Smith and Jocelyn Doyle as they help guide sole proprietors on what they need to prepare to file their personal tax return with business income. Participants will be sent a lunch menu from 10C’s Nourish Café the week leading up from the event for pre-orders – these lunches are $14 or you are welcome to bring a lunch from home.
In 2023 Jocelyn became a sole proprietor of preparing personal, deceased and estate tax returns with over 16 years of experience working in the tax department of an accounting firm. Jocelyn enjoys working with people and helping them with their personal tax needs, whether it’s knowing what to gather for their tax returns or preparing tax planners and anything else personal tax related. Jocelyn’s passion is lessening stress for others wherever possible so that could mean answering a few questions on a consultant basis to happily accepting the shoe box full of random receipts so clients can focus on their business and passion. Jocelyn has the knowledge and experience in the tax area but most importantly comes with empathy, patience and a passion to help those who don’t understand taxes or have anxiety about them.
Aerin is a 10C member and part-time coworker helping small businesses discover the value of great bookkeeping by using the right technology, strong processes, and personalized training, this will be her third session at 10C!
