Take 10C’s 2019 Community Investing survey in support of the Smart Cities Circular Food Economy Project.
Hello Community Member!
As you may have heard, 10C Shared Space, a local not for profit, has purchased and renovated a community hub with support from 135 community investors who have invested over $2,000,000 in direct social financing for this project. 10C is part of a pioneering set of initiatives, nine in Ontario, and four in Quebec, that have used Community Bonds to raise anywhere from $20,000 to more than $12,000,000 as part of their project financing.
We believe there will be a wave of local social projects built in this way and they can help achieve various social and economic goals. To advance this work, 10C would like to better understand the motivation, experience and needs of future social impact investors. If you’ve ever thought of investing locally, are curious about social finance, or have invested in other projects, please help add to this knowledge.
Have you heard about Smart Cities and Guelph and Wellington’s Circular Food Economy Project?
Guelph-Wellington aims to become Canada’s First Circular Food Economy, bringing food systems and communities back into a healthy balance. Through a rural-urban partnership, the project aims to enhance access to nutritious food, reduce carbon footprint, turn “waste” into valuable resources and create new economic opportunities.
The project’s goals are to build and strengthen an inter-connected system harnessing the power of data, technology, community and business where: 1) everyone can access nutritious food; 2) nothing is wasted; and 3) the impact on our environment is minimal. Within this system, food experts, community and entrepreneurs come together to tackle our most complex food challenges.
We believe that social finance will play a strong role in these projects, offering both a stable financial return and creating positive community value.
If you are interested in Circular Food Economy or Social Investing, we invite you to complete 10C’s Community Investing survey.
This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. We are hoping to receive your feedback in February 2019 to help support this current research.
10C will publish the results from this community survey in March/April 2019 on our website. Please help us move forward in our mission to develop a thriving social impact investing community in Guelph and Ontario.
A note on confidentiality.
The survey is being managed by an independent contractor, Terrapin Social Finance. All survey responses will be anonymous and more than one person in a household is welcome to complete the survey to share their awareness or ideas about social impact investing.
The final question on the survey asks for contact information if you are willing to participate in a follow-up telephone interview at a later date. Telephone survey information will be decoupled from the rest of the survey results before it is shared back to 10C. 10C will not know who completed the survey, who didn’t, or what any individual investor responded.
If you have any questions or troubles with the on-line survey process, please email [email protected] for assistance.
Thanks in advance for your help with this project!
