Tender Threads is an expression of soft feelings. When the heartache that has lived in the body for years begins to lift, what does shedding it feel like? Sometimes it happens unknowingly, in every-day moments. When you find a flow state in movement, share a swim with friends or touch with a loved one and all of the sudden find joy again. Even when the grief leaves us, it remains woven quietly within as life carries on to take new shapes.
This show includes two mediums, free hand embroidery on Japanese paper and cyanotype prints on cotton. Prints were made using red paint on mylar.
Artist Bio
Bri has been an interdisciplinary artist and admirer of the arts her whole life. Born and raised in Guelph, she took her studies to TMU in Toronto where she resided for 8 years before returning to her hometown to stay in 2021. Bri worked and exhibited in Art Galleries across the city during her time in Toronto. She facilitated print-making and embroidery workshops while working full time in Animation, pre-covid and post-grad.
Bri’s creative practice today primarily looks like making, baking and movement in aerial arts, a beloved discipline she has taken up since being back in Guelph.
