Born and raised in Northern Ontario, in Sault Ste. Marie, Zach holds an undergraduate degree in Community Economic and Social Development from Algoma University. Zach brings knowledge and experience in community development having worked in various sectors including community-based participatory research, community engagement, youth, adult and senior life-skills education, anti-racism initiatives, social enterprise and entrepreneurship, food security, philanthropy, community based social justice, strategic planning, etc. Zach has worked in the non-profit and charitable sector for many years as well as 20 plus years in the arts and culture sector. He also brings front-line experience working with folks that have lived experience with homelessness, mental health and addiction. 

Zach recently moved to Guelph in the summer of 2023 with his partner Jenny, dog Francis and cat Richard. Zach has a great passion for building community and is very excited to join the Food Uniting Neighbours (f.u.n.) initiative to plant his own roots in the Guelph community and to help strengthen access to food and food-based programming with community members locally. 

Outside of work, Zach enjoys music, cooking, collage art and is always looking for new exciting things to do and people to meet!
