Join us for a hands-on cooking workshop designed specifically for men who want cooking skills for improved health. Led by a registered dietitian, this class focuses on preparing simple, flavourful meals while exploring how everyday food choices can support heart health.

Together, we’ll discuss nutrition strategies that can help manage and reduce risk factors such as diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), and high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia). You’ll learn how to build balanced meals, read labels with confidence, and make small changes that have a big impact—without giving up foods you enjoy.

About the facilitator:
Shin Low is a Registered Dietitian (RD) working in the community health sector for over 15 years. With her extensive knowledge and expertise in nutrition, she has supported many folks with variety of health concerns from birth to older adulthood. Shin will facilitate a discussion on anti-inflammatory foods and how these powerful food can improve and optimize one’s health.

Sliding Scale Tickets:

All Nourishing Connections workshops are set using a varying sliding scale. The sliding scale recognizes that our economic system is an outdated and oppressive model that does not serve the needs of our community. By offering a range of ticket prices we aim to reduce barriers to participation in community events and learning opportunities that are meant for everyone to enjoy.

Please choose the ticket price that best fits with your needs. This event is for participants aged 55+
