We are from Andkhoy which is a small community within Afghanistan. We immigrated to Canada when we were young kids and now as Afghan Canadian’s we want to share a piece of our culture with everyone: Pouchai. Pouchai is a simple yet delicious pastry rooted in Andkhoy culture. It is beautiful and delicious blend of dough, meat and/or veggies, and spices, and a recipe that hasn’t changed for centuries. Pouchai is a traditional Afghan-Uzbek pastry that is filled with meat, veggies, and spices but can be altered to fit any dietary restriction. The goal of our business is to educate and promote our story and culture through food and ensure everyone has access to good quality food.
