Nourishing Connections will host a variety of food focused programs and activities for individuals in Guelph and Wellington County. Keep an eye out on this page for our listing of upcoming activities!
This programming is made possible with funding provided by the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Free Community Meal @ f.u.n. Friday

Enjoy a free community meal and connect with friends! Nourishing Connections is teaming up with f.u.n. Friday for a special event with a focus on community members 55 year and up. Learn about upcoming food workshops and events and join a free Zumba session for some fun and movement!

Reducing Inflammation Through Food & Lifestyle

The learning session will also provide simple strategies and recipes to help incorporate more anti-inflammatory foods into your meals, while reducing those that may trigger inflammation. We will also look as how lifestyle factors, such as stress, sleep, and movement affect inflammation and discuss the role vitamins and supplements in supporting your body’s natural balance.
Whether you’re looking to boost your energy, improve long-term wellness, or simply expand your nutrition knowledge, this workshop will give you practical tools to apply right away.
Grow your Own Microgreens

Join us for an exciting workshop on how to grow your own microgreens, presented by Aarathi from Backyard Roots & Shoots! Learn about the incredible health benefits of microgreens, enjoy a live demonstration on how to easily grow these sprouts in your own home year-round, and take home a custom microgreens recipe book.
Bring a rectangular reusable container (or use the containers provided) to plant you own radish, pea, and broccoli seedlings!
Preparing the Harvest Together: Community Batch Cooking

Join us for a hands-on community cooking bee where we’ll turn surprise collection of seasonal vegetables into something delicious! Together, we’ll plan what to make, and prepare batch recipes while learning tips and trick for healthy seasonal eating.
Participants will get hands-on experience in preparing, preserving, and cooking in volume – with a focus on creativity, and reducing food waste. We will also enjoy lunch together and have a jar of soup to take home!
Holiday Chocolate Bark Making

- Time: 1pm – 3pm
- Location: 10C Shared Space, 42 Carden St. Guelph ON
During the workshop, you will explore the fascinating world of chocolate — learning about different varieties, the science and hear stories of chocolate traditions from Mexico. You will choose from a wide selection of high-quality inclusions such as roasted nuts, dried fruits, spices, and seasonal treats, combining them to create your own one-of-a-kind flavour profiles.
Each participant will take home two beautifully wrapped bars of their own handmade chocolate bark — perfect to enjoy yourself or as a gift during the holiday season.
