All About Apples: An Afternoon of Apple Processing
- Date: December 4, 2025
- Time: 1pm – 3pm
- Location: 10C Shared Space, 42 Carden St. Guelph ON
Join us for a fun afternoon of apples! We will taste several varieties of apples – many are grown locally; most of them can be found in any grocery store in Guelph. That can help us decide which ones would be best for different purposes: dehydrating apple rings, just eating fresh, and making apple sauce, pie filling and a savoury chutney!
Everyone will have chance to learn how to make an easy and excellent pie pastry (“dough”). It’s all about the technique! We will also peel and chop many apples and then make apple pie filling: Everyone will go home with the recipe and a pie to either freeze or bake.
Finally, we will make a savoury “chutney” which can be served as a holiday treat on a charcuterie or cheese board. Or, eaten with samosas! Participants will take a small jar of chutney home, with the recipe.”
