Nourishing Connections will host a variety of food focused programs and activities for individuals in Guelph and Wellington County. Keep an eye out on this page for our listing of upcoming activities!
This programming is made possible with funding provided by the Government of Ontario and the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Learn simple, practical ways to meet these needs through everyday foods and make nutrition work for you at every stage of life.
Making Pizza Together

Ever wanted to make your own pizza from scratch? Crowded Table Pizza is hosting an interactive pizza workshop as part of the Nourishing Connections program for community members 55+.
The session will combine hands-on dough-making with an engaging look at the science, stories, and local food systems behind great pizza.
During this workshop, you will:
- Mix and knead your own dough from scratch (and take it home!)
- Learn about the stories and process behind making dough, sauce, cheese, toppings, and the role of Canadian agriculture
- Top your pizza using farm-fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Bake it on site using professional pizza ovens
- Most importantly, have FUN!
Crowded Table Pizza is the passion project of Allison Leroux – an international award-winning pizzaiola, food literacy advocate, and lifelong community-builder. Based in southern Ontario, Crowded Table celebrates the beauty of local, seasonal food through handmade pizzas crafted with love and purpose.
Nourishing Connections at f.u.n. Friday with Accessible Yoga!

Join us for a free community meal and accessible Yoga from Hannah Senitt of Blue Angel Yoga. Hannah is a certified teacher who specialized in supporting all bodies and abilities. Come and join drop in yoga session offering a combination of chair and standing poses focused on breath, de-stress, neck and shoulder release and alignment.
Note this class is a drop in, no registration is required.

What a Crock! Slow Cooker Tips and Tricks

This workshop is all about making easy and tasty meals without any cooking! We’ll make wraps and bowls with affordable and accessible ingredients. And we’ll talk about using spices, sauces, unfamiliar foods and ingredient substitutions to add some variety to your meals. You’ll learn about basic kitchen safety and knife skills, and we’ll discuss topics like food prep barriers, packaging labels and best before dates. Bring your curiosity and questions to this fun and informative workshop!
