Volunteering means being connected to all things 10C. You do not just volunteer for 10C, you become connected to the community 10C holds in Guelph and beyond.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:
Front Desk Host
Hosts play an important role in supporting the 10C team by being the first point of contact for everyone who enters the building. You are not only a friendly face to all who come in, but an important resource for our community helping people find answers to their questions. All shifts are Monday to Friday from: 9-11am, 11-1pm, 1-3pm or 3-5pm, and include onsite training and support.
Minimum one – 2 hour shift per week, or as an occasional drop in.
Requirements: Conversational English skills – you are comfortable with conversation, answering questions and written communication in English
Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming and checking in all building guests – you are a good listener and excellent at problem solving.
- Directing members and guests to their meeting or event locations – you are friendly and take initiative.
- Responding to community member questions and receiving mail – you are an effective communicator
- Communicating via Slack with staff – this one is really important.
- Selling items with our point-of-sale system in Square – counting money and being comfortable with technology.
- Supporting with light cleaning and event set-up as needed
Guelph Farmers’ Market Assistant
Love the Guelph Farmers’ Market? Looking to help with local food access? Guelph Farmers’ Market volunteers get to know their local producers and community members and become a key part of the local food movement.
Availability:
- Thursdays 4pm – 7pm for Thursday Markets (May through October)
- Saturdays 8am – 1pm for the Saturday Farmers’ Market (Year-round)
We welcome anyone who want to give back to their community and learn about local food systems. Come for a day or a few weeks, we’re flexible with your commitment.
Responsibilities include:
- Counting market attendees
- Helping to set up and tear down market booths
- Carry out service for market patrons
- Other tasks as they arise
- Being friendly and awesome
