Friendlier: Reducing Plastic Waste through reusable packaging  

Friendlier is a company focused on circularity and supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Founded by best friends Kayli Dale and Jacquie Hutchings, Friendlier provides reusable takeout containers to food service providers and offers convenient drop-off locations for customers to return them. As a result, they have diverted 23 tons of waste and reduced 67 tons of carbon emissions by reusing over 500,000 containers in the restaurant and food service sectors. With support from COIL, Friendlier has shown that a circular approach can revolutionize the food service industry and contribute to the SDGs. The company aligns with SDGs 12, 13, and 17 by promoting responsible consumption, reducing waste, addressing climate action, and fostering partnerships. Friendlier has expanded to over 200 locations in Ontario and encourages users to download their app to participate in the circular economy movement.
