Kal Termanini Photography: Continuing a 2 decade photography career in Guelph

International commercial photographer Kal Termanini, with over two decades of experience, has transitioned his thriving career from Dubai to his new home base in Guelph, Ontario. Specializing in commercial and portrait photography, his impressive portfolio includes collaborations with global giants like Intel, Pepsi, GM, Marriott and Fairmont Hotels and Google. Kal’s expertise extends beyond photography; he also directs and produces photo shoots for international brands and celebrities. Additionally, as a seasoned educator, he has shared his knowledge with aspiring photographers worldwide. 10C Member Emmanuel Chukwu: Top 100 artist for the 2024 100 Kellogg’s Lane Art Competition!

My name is Emmanuel Chukwu, I’m a local artist and former 10C employee. I recently got selected into the top 100 for the 2024 100 Kellogg’s Lane Art Competition in London, this competition gives artists from all over the world exposure, and an opportunity to win $100,000.

As a top 100 artist, I will be part of the art show at 100 Kellogg’s Lane, London, ON, starting May 23rd 7pm opening night. The art show will be open to the public till September 5th.

I also have an opportunity to be voted in by YOU for the cash price via a link that will be provided May 23rd, voting is open May 23 – September 1st. I am very excited to show my work at 100 Kellogg’s Lane, and I hope you can see the show and vote for me!

Ignatius Farm: New Farmer Training Program

Build a foundation to start a successful farm enterprise.
This program will not only provide you with critical information to start your farm, but you will meet other new and experienced farmers and become a part of the ecological agricultural community in Ontario. Educational content is geared toward new farmers, but is open to all farmers who might be curious about a certain topic, wishing to expand their farming knowledge, or in need of a refresh.

Quilting with Art Not Shame at the Guelph Civic Museum

Community Fabric project has been a free community-arts series in which participants have worked together to create a community quilt. Each week community members have explored mark-making through textiles as local artist facilitators guide them through teachings around appliqué, embroidery, hand-sewing, printmaking, and quilting. The last two sessions will focus on assembling the squares of the quilt and will take place May 2nd and 8th from 6pm – 8pm at the Guelph Civic Museum.

Guelph Dance Festival: May 31 to June 2

The annual Guelph Dance Festival is happening May 31 to June 2, 2024! Call for Festival and Camp Volunteers

Guelph Dance is recruiting for two upcoming volunteer opportunities!

Guelph Dance Festival, May 31 to June 2:
Festival volunteers greet patrons at the outdoor and indoor events, welcome the audience, direct people to performance locations/seats, collect donations, and help with set up or clean-up at the performances.

Summer Arts Explosion Camps, July 8 to 26:
Volunteer Camp Counsellors must be minimum 14 years of age, or starting grade 9 in September 2024. Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage with campers (age 4 to 13), exercise leadership skills, encourage creativity, lead activities, support teaching artists and build relationships with campers, peers and instructors.

Adobe Premiere Pro for Beginners

This workshop introduces to the essentials of editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro: how the software manages media, starting a new project, importing footage, simple editing tools, applying effects, and exporting your work. This beginner-level workshop is an ideal starting point for someone who wants an overview of the software.

How To Draw (Level 1) Beginner Fundamentals

In this 4 week class, you will learn drawing and construction of solid shapes in 1, 2 and 3 point perspective, observational drawing from life and photographs, basic anatomy and human proportions, principles of gestural figure drawing, concepts of light and shadow, and more.

No prior drawing or art experience is necessary to attend and enjoy this course.
Perfect for absolute beginners as well as intermediate artists looking to sharpen their technical skills.

Wednesday, May 15, 22, 29, June 5 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Parent-Child Emotion Regulation Group (4 weeks)

Through sharing knowledge and practical strategies, this group will help children ages 6-8 and their caregivers strengthen their connection and bolster their ability to manage big feelings. Each session will include time for parents and children to meet in separate groups as well as time to join all together.

$120 per session per family ($480 total per family, 1 or 2 caregivers are welcome to attend). Reimbursed by most extended health benefits.
