Youth Opportunity Award Accepting Applications

Guelph Arts Council is pleased to announce the deadline for the Youth Opportunities Award, which is made possible through the GAC Youth Opportunities Fund at The Guelph Community Foundation. The 2023 application deadline is Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 5:00 pm (paper application) or 11:59 pm (online application). Annual General Meeting

All GTL members in good standing are encouraged to join is for our Annual General Meeting. This is an important process for us as a non profit, but it’s also fun! It’s a chance to meet and mingle with other GTL members, and with the team of staff and volunteers that make what we do possible.


There will be two ways to join this year, virtually or IN PERSON!! Members wishing to attend in person are welcome to join us at 6:30 pm at the GAC ArtBar, which is the former home of the eBar, next to the Bookshelf Cinema. Complimentary refreshments will be provided. The meeting will begin at 7:00, with the doors opening at 6:30 for some time beforehand to settle in and enjoy some delicious food.


All registrants will receive the link to join virtually, so if you decide to attend from home, you will be able to access the event.


Time is of the Essence; Sign the Petition for a National Urban Park in Guelph

Deadline to sign: Monday, January 15, 2024

Urban Park Guelph, a coalition of local organizations and community members is petitioning the federal government to establish a National Urban Park at the Reformatory Heritage Conservation District lands at 785 York Rd. (formerly known as the Guelph Correctional Centre).

Please share with your colleagues, members, staff, friends and families as we need as many signatures as we can get.

We need to preserve this jewel of local greenspace to help fight climate stress, preserve biodiversity and provide opportunities for people to connect with nature now and in the future. The Federal Government has committed $130 million to establish National Urban Parks in or near cities across the county under the Parks Canada system. The petition will be presented to Parliament early in the new year.


Remembering Speedwell: A Guided Walk in Remembrance of Guelph’s WWI Military Hospital

Yorklands Green Hub

Saturday, November 11 | 2:00 – 3:00 PM | 785 York Road | Free event

On Remembrance Day November 11, please join Susan Ratcliffe on a guided walk at 785 York Road. Susan will be sharing her vast knowledge of the military history of the Yorklands site including Speedwell Hospital used during WWI for wounded veterans.

The walk starts at 2pm from the front gates.

Ed Video will be hosting financial advisors from Richardson Wealth as they teach artists and cultural workers simple tools and concepts to help them secure their financial future.
